Recent Additions to the Infrastructure in Meigs County...

Our infrastructure is expanding rapidly as a new super highway of Route #33 is 180 Million Dollars (before cost overrun). This is 26% of the entire new construction road money for the state of Ohio and is to be spent in Meigs County only.
- American Municipal Power of Ohio with Blue Ridge Power Agency and Michigan South Central Agency announced its plans to construct a non-profit 1.2 Billion Dollar coal fired plant to sell wholesale electricity to municipalities operating their own electric systems.
- American Electric Power Company is awaiting the go ahead to construct its own 1 Billion Dollar integrated gasification combined cycle plant.
- A new school in our Southern Local School district has been constructed for 10 Million Dollars.
- A new school of 8.1 Million Dollars has been constructed in our Eastern Local District.
- Two new Meigs Local schools have been constructed, a 34.8 Million Dollar project.
- A new super-two Bridge spanning the Ohio River has begun and is a 42 Million Dollar project, before cost overrun.
- A new Tuppers Plains Speculations Building for the CIC has cost 1.2 Million Dollars.
- A new business in the Industrial Park in Tuppers Plains, a steel manufacturing company is a 1 Million Dollar venture.
- A new business venture, Alligator Jack's, has been opened along SR 7. It was $500,000 before renovations.
- Meigs County CIC has received over 1 Million Dollars to build a business that will create 50 jobs.
- The telemarketing business building constructed last year in Pomeroy has the capability of employing 200 workers and was constructed for just under 1 Million Dollars.
- Other new businesses include: WeCan Fabricators, The Party Barn, Making Memories on the River, The Party Store, Riverfront Past & Present.
- A new boat docking facility was constructed on the upper end of our river front parking lot by government grant and is a 1 Million Dollar project.

- A new High Tech Electric Power plant is to be constructed with an Estimated Cost of 1 Billion Dollars before cost overrun.
- 2 Million Dollars is in infrastructure of combined Pomeroy-Middleport in sewer and water updating.
- O'Blenness Hospital recently opened Meigs medical Clinic, servicing 5 specialties.
- Pleasant Valley Hospital plans to increase D. Metzger's office by adding OBGYN.
- Verizon Phone Corporation has installed new high speed fiber optic phone service through out our county.
